Ajax’s 19 year old Danish sensation Nicolai Boilesen has attracted a lot of attention since his professional debut earlier this year with Chelsea and Manchester United hot on his tail.

United will be kicking themselves as Boilesen trained with the Champions before choosing to sign for Ajax last season. However they may be able to tempt the Dane to Old Trafford as he is familiar with the setup and understands the clubs aspirations.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea will also be keen to replace some of their aging stars. The young Dane has already earnt his first international call up which has alerted the rest of Europe to his tremendous talent. The Premiership hotshots will have to act fast to secure his signature before the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or AC Milan step into the frame.

Boilesen though will be quite happy having selected Ajax over United in the first place. He knows he is part of a well structured and famed youth academy at Ajax and will not feel to obligied to make any hasty transfer decisions just yet. Boilesen can enjoy his football and learn from mentors such as the De Boer brothers, Dennis Berkamp and Edgar Davids, who are currently coaching for the Dutch giants.

Boilesen is developing quickly under Ajax’s guidance and although the club will be committed to keeping the star for as long as possible they do have a reputation for producing talented youngsters only to release them for the right fee.

Boilesen will be one of many young players to cause a stir during the next transfer window as some of Europe’s biggest clubs start to look at building from the bottom up by grooming players from the youth academies into their first team squads. Boilesen could find himself as potential first team material at United or Chelsea but only after spending some time with the youth and adjusting to English football.

Which could suggest a reason why he should stay where he is until he becomes a more prominent and desired player.
