Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he will make changes to his team ahead of our Champions League Group E match against Bayer Leverkusen tonight, with our big game against Manchester United at the weekend in mind.

The former Porto boss will take charge of his first Champions League game tonight and says that he will make the right choices so that Chelsea are in good shape for both the Leverkusen and United games.

AVB said:

“You’ll see some changes. Then we’ll make wise decisions for Sunday. It is very tight. Most of the players were away with their countries last week, we played at Sunderland on Saturday and now we have this European match.”

He added:

“We have only four days to recover for Old Trafford and this has to play a part in my team selection. Hopefully we will make the right choices to win this game and the players will also be up to the level on Sunday.”

Brazilian midfielder Ramires is unavailable for tonight’s game after his red card against Manchester United during last season’s competition. Romelu Lukaku and Ryan Bertrand are ineligible for selection, whilst Didier Drogba and Michael Essien are injury casualties.

With that information in mind, who would you select for tonight’s game?

    Looks like a very strong team to me.. Possibly our strongest…? who knows, we might see tonight…
    The only possible formation (if it works out on the pitch) i see being stronger would be:4:2:3:1

    It has the potential to be devastating! Imagin Luiz who is one of our best passers with the ball and probably our best tackler combined with meireles who could fill the gabs defencively and offensivley has so much vision and awareness for teammates as our two anchormen and midfield runners! On paper: Perfekt match! Then as our number (10) Mikel: a big lad with so much style and brilliant passing technik, shruging of players and putting in some killerpasses and lets not forget he is a danger in the box aswell with his hight! or McEachran: the little genious forming a blind understanding with Mata, Sturridge and Torres! That could produce stuff of dreams!
    On the right Sturridge: Doing the fancy stuff and making opponents look like fools while scoring on a regular.
    Mata on the left: making himself available, putting defences out of order, playing balls through, making crosses, scoring, all in all being our main man, the one who we all look to when we mostly need it!
    And Torres: The great number 9 our linchpin! The hero of the Shed! The goal machinery! An unstoppable menace to every defence!

    Now who could stop us now?!

    We got the potential i hope we see glimpses of it!

      if i were the coach ill try that tonight for sure.personally i think ivanovic is the best right back we have so to hell with bosingwa i dont trust that guy at all.alex and terry at the back are always solid and understand each other so well,we dont concede silly goals like that at sunderland where one of us is putting an opponent onside.alex is a good lastman.Ivanovic and terry dont seem to gell tounderstand each other.

    Meireles McEachren
    Mata Torres Sturridge

    Experienced enough with a steady backline without Terry so he wont get Injured ahead of Man Utd and to give alex some playing time couse he wont play alor when Luiz is 100 % pretty young team aswell and if mata and danny get torres fireing this would be my regular PREMleague line up aswell younger faster more creative better for AVBs tactics
