Chelsea have snapped up Celtic youngster Islam Feruz after the 16-year-old signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues.

The news has infuriated Celtic boss Neil Lennon who believes the player has been “badly advised” over his transfer to Chelsea.

“I don’t think the football is the main issue here,” said Lennon.

“He was going along very nicely when he had a good agent in John Colquhoun, then for some reason he decided to let somebody else come in and take over.

“I’d say it was round about March, April time when we first became aware of a problem with him. His attitude changed dramatically and his attitude towards the club changed dramatically.

“Yet the club has been so good to him. We’ve looked after him and his family very well but his head’s been turned, obviously.”

Celtic will be due compensation from Chelsea once the player moves to Stamford Bridge.

I feel for Celtic as this is coming more and more common place. I will always follow the Chels but feel we need to nurture more home grown talent!!
