Andre Villas-Boas believes that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has shown no ill-affects after suffering a head injury during last night’s Carling Cup match against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

Ross Turnbull had to replace Cech after half-time as the Blues’ number one stopper had to go off after colliding with Orlando Sa, as Henrique Hilario was unavailable through injury.

But Villas-Boas is confident that his side has avoided a goalkeeping crisis and Cech is okay and has been given the all clear.

AVB said:

“Petr went for a scan in the hospital and he’s okay.”

Cech and Chelsea cannot be blamed for playing it safe as the player suffered a horrific injury against Reading five years ago after been kicked in the head by Stephen H(c)unt and Didier Drogba was knocked unconscious by Norwich keeper John Ruddy only four weeks ago.
