The Luka Modric saga has dragged on over the summer, but after having two bids rejected already Chelsea’s chairman Bruce Buck has hinted that the west London club may give up their pursuit of the Tottenham midfielder.

Buck said:

“Most clubs don’t want to talk about players they are interested in but the Modric situation became public.

“We did make an offer, it was rejected and I don’t know if it will go any further. We will have to see.

“Andre didn’t give us a shopping list but he did tell us where he thought we could improve.”

But the player said recently that he is still waiting on his future and suggested that his feelings over a move have not changed:

“I said a lot of things before and still everything is the same at the moment. I will see – I’m still waiting.”

Man City has certainly found a new bag of tricks in Aguero. The moment he hit the pitch yesterday everything changed. While Chelsea is bogged down with more of the same; City has proof that one specialized player can make the difference. So what’s the answer for Chelsea? We need someone who plays wide as a winger, but can also cut in and unlock defences. Someone who can provide a final killer pass but is accurate when called on to shoot. AVB; it’s obvious; we are talking about Neymar.
