This is pure speculation mixed with a healthy dose of wishful thinking but I sincerely believe there is a real chance that Chelsea FC may yet sign this exciting talent. Although various newspapers and sports journalists have Aguero already wearing the pale blue of Man City, I am not so sure.

Ron Gourlay CEO of Chelsea spoke in Bangkok last night to inform the press that Chelsea would be making two signings over the next week to ten days (after the confirmation of the Romeu deal with Barca). OK these could be anyone but it is strange that it also coincides with the end of Copa America with European club players returning to Europe and facing the business of next season.

At one stage the clubs quoted as being realistically keen to sign Aguero were Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Man City and Chelsea. Discounting a sale to Real Madrid for obvious reasons I think it is also safe to assume that Barcelona are out of the running due to an agreed fee for Sanchez and them having to sell the young silver wear to be able to cobble a Fabregas deal together. Most probably due to his father in law Maradona’s troubled end days with Napoli over non payment of taxes and leaving Italy under less than favourable circumstances led to Aguero’s statement of last week of only wanting to play in the Premiership or La Liga. Juve a no go then.

City we know have been beavering away trying to put a deal together to replace a ‘want-away’ Carlo Tevez with his fellow countryman and the sports press in this country have bought into this and assumed the deal is as good as done?

Firstly, why would Aguero want to go to a club where his International team mate and friend is desperately wanting to get away from? Tevez has done nothing but bad mouth Manchester for its lack of culture and decent restaurants, so one can only assume he has had a word in his mate’s ear. Also, as having spent the last few seasons playing for Madrid’s ‘second football’ team why on earth would he want to repeat that in Manchester? Sorry City fans but just looking at this as it currently is.

The final straw to put credence to my suspicions is the latest news on our new young Genk goalkeeper signing Thibaut Coutois. A few days ago it was being reported that he had already had a medical and was being loaned out to Athletico Madrid for next season as a direct replacement for David De Gea now of United. Last night AVB was saying that our new 19 year old keeper from Genk was one for the future and although he could go to La Liga it is undecided yet, which European league would be best for his continued development? This kid was due to start training with Athletico tomorrow!

Like I said, maybe wishful thinking but it would not surprise me to see Roman do a ‘Robinho’ on City over Aguero… oh god I hope I am right because we so need that kind of signing at the moment.

    we need hazard and pastore. And if they bring Kun, then anelka and kalou should go. In roman we trust.

    citeh and atletico have a working agreement and good relations, it all seems agreed and i don’t think they would jeopardize it now. plus aguero has said he’s happy to go to citeh. aren’t we signing lukaku? if we hadn’t signed torres i could see a serious move for aguero – who i rate more than torres these days.

  4. Captain Crumpet says:

    Maybe you are signing Santa Cruz or Adebayor. Now that would not be a surprise. Maybe you are getting both of them.

  5. me says:

    torres should go the other way to atletico, probably the only club who would see value in torres, aguero to chelsea, a no brainer;
