English fans may never want to hear the name Thomas Muller again but who would bet against the German striker packing his bags for England this summer? The Bayern Munich star is one of the brightest young talents in Europe at this moment and it only seems a matter of time until one of England’s elite clubs move in. Thomas Muller’s performances in the World Cup showed to everybody that he could be a star on the world stage and his performances this season at Bayern Munich have emphasized why he is considered one of the brightest prospects in German football. After his very public falling out with team mate Arjen Robben, it is clear that the German club will need to sell one of their stars. My money is on Muller.

There would be no shortage of teams after the striker if he decided to leave Bayern Munich. No doubt Manchester City would like another forward who can score goals and Manchester United clearly need another goalscorer for the big games. Or how about Tottenham; they will be in the market for a new striker, Muller’s options in England are without doubt the top clubs. His record in the German Bundesliga has been outstanding this season. At only 21, Muller has netted twelve times in thirty two appearances, contributing twelve assists. If you put that record into any of the top teams in England surely it would improve all their league positions.

Last summer, sources in Germany claimed that Thomas Muller was a target of Carlo Ancelotti but the Chelsea manager was prepared to wait to see how Muller progressed after the World Cup. Without a doubt Muller has become one the most sought out strikers in world football and a player that Chelsea should be looking at. With the probable departures of both Nicholas Anelka and Didier Drogba, Muller would certainly compliment Fernando Torres, especially as he is adept to playing on the right of a three-pronged attack. Could it be the partnership that finally livens up Torres?

Muller is a player that will excite any Premier League club. He is both tall and strong and there is little evidence to suggest he couldn’t be a star in the Premier League. Thomas Muller is a Bayern Munich man and they are a notoriously difficult club to buy from. The German striker will cost a Premier League side a sizeable amount of money, but in this writers opinion, it would be money well spent. He is still only 21 and is getting better and better. After what happened this season with Arjen Robben, this upcoming transfer window might be the best and cheapest opportunity for a Premier League club to get their hands on this German star.

  7. Sean says:

He’s a good player. However, being German I can’t see him leaving Bayern too young. Plus, with the Champion’s League final at the Allianz next year, Bayern will not sell their best players as they want to win it on their own ground.
