A brace of goals from Nathaniel Chalobah and one from Bobby Devyne helped Chelsea beat Manchester United 3-2 in their home leg of The FA Youth Cup.

Chelsea were dominant in the first half and Chalobah’s goals gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the break, but the visitors improved during the second period and got themselves back into the match when Jesse Lingard put the ball in the net before the hour.

Devyne restored Chelsea’s two-goal advantage after sweeping the ball into the net off a Aziz Deen-Conteh cross.

But United got themselves within touching distance again five minutes later when Paul Pogba rose highest in the box to head in a Larnell Cole cross.

The young Blues will be pleased with their win, but will have to finish the job at Old Trafford in the second leg.
