Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign John Terry and reunite him with Ricardo Carvalho at Real Madrid, as the Portuguese manager believes that his squad is lacking in leadership qualities and he could do with more defensive options.

La Gazzatta dello Sport reported the rumour and I think that they are way off the mark here and so is Mourinho if that is actually what he’s thinking, why would John Terry want to leave the club he loves to go a La Liga club that has a manager that is desperate to come back to the Premier League? I think that the only time Mourinho would be able to manage Terry again is if he came back to Chelsea.

Terry, 30, has a lot of football left in him, a contract until 2014 at Stamford Bridge and it’s believed that both the player and the club hope that he takes up a coaching role after he retires.

Chelsea could be set for a time of uncertainty as the rumours of Carlo Ancelotti’s imminent sacking refuse to go away and several squad members linked with the exit door, but regardless of all that, I think that any offer Madrid may potentially make for the player will be rebuffed with a firm NO!

We didn’t sell him when Manchester City came calling with their millions in the summer of 2009 and I doubt we’d be selling him now.
