Real Madrid manager has fuelled speculation over his future by saying that he ‘unfinished business’ in England and could yet be involved in a sensational return to Stamford Bridge.

The Special One was attending a charity event in London yesterday and told The Sun that he would love to return to the Premier League:

“I miss England and my next job will be in England.

“There is unfinished business and I think England wants me back, no? It was the most enjoyable time of my career.”

Current Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is set for the chop no matter what he does or does not achieve this season, according to reports, and it has also been suggested that he would fancy taking a move to the Italian capital to manage Serie A outfit Roma, which would pave the way for the eighth manager to take the helm at Stamford Bridge since Roman Abramovich took ownership of the west London club in June 2003.

At the moment the bookies favour either a return of Mourinho or previous interim manager Guus Hiddink, who may quit the Turkish national side if they fail to beat Austria and Belgium in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. However, at 64-years-old, it is more likely that Hiddink would be wanted to fill a sporting director role in place of Frank Arnesen, rather than a managerial one if he was to return to the club.

Mourinho will be back in London again soon, but his mind will be firmly focused on Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham Hotspur, who stands in the way of his Real Madrid side and a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League:

“Tottenham are a good team: they beat Inter, they beat Milan, they have ambitions, they have a very good team and a good manager.

“You can feel that it is a happy team, and happy teams are dangerous teams.”

What could Jose’s ‘unfinished business’ be? He has previously declared that he is still ‘in love’ with Chelsea, has said that he would never manage a former club’s rival and remains on good terms with Abramovich, so make what you will of that.
