Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has become the latest player linked with a move to the MLS, more specifically the New York Red Bulls, who have also been interested in Nicolas Anelka, according to reports.

The German, now at Bayer Leverkusen, has made just 10 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit since he left Stamford Bridge and Express de believe that Ballack is now considering a move to the USA.

Ballack, 34, played 163 games for Chelsea and scored 26 goals for the club. The midfielder was something of an unsung hero during last season’s double campaign, in my opinion, and it was unfortunate that his last game for the west London club, the FA Cup final, ended in injury. The veteran was stretchered off just before half-time after suffering a disgraceful challenge from Kevin Prince Boateng, which cruelly ruled Ballack out of the World Cup.
