Chelsea’s Brazilian defender David Luiz has quickly made an impression in the Premier League and has already won over the Stamford Bridge faithful. Now he wants his countryman Neymar to join him at ‘one of the best teams in the world’.

Neymar scored twice for Brazil against Scotland when the teams faced up against each other at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Chelsea have tried and failed to sign the 19-year-old before, but Luiz has urged the forward to join him in west London:

“I am very happy, because I’m at one of the best teams in the world.

“I would love it if Neymar came to Chelsea. He is going to be one of the best players in the world.”

And it would appear as though the young star may be open to a move to London and join Chelsea’s Brazilian contingent of Alex, David Luiz, Ramires and Lucas Piazon at the club.

Neymar said:

“It’s a dream of every player to play at Chelsea. If one day it happens, I will be very happy to come.

“Last year, when Chelsea came, we sat together and we thought it wasn’t the time yet. If it happens this year, we are going to sit again and going to discuss about it.”

You never really know where you are with Neymar as the guy seems to change his mind every time he talks to the press, but having seen how well the impact of Luiz on the Chelsea team and the performances of Ramires, who has been more of a late bloomer this season, it may help sway the Santos youngster into thinking that Stamford Bridge is the right place for him to play his football.

It’s reported that Chelsea face competition with the likes of Manchester City and Juventus for the player, but you could probably discount Juve as they allegedly don’t have enough money for Alberto Aquilani, so how would they be able to afford Neymar? Then there’s City, who can outbid everyone, but cannot yet offer Champions League football and have not achieved any tangible success despite spending a vast sum of cash.

Do you think Neymar will end up at Chelsea this summer and how much should the club be willing to pay in order to secure his services?
