Arsenal legend and current New York Red Bulls hitman Thierry Henry has convinced fellow French international Nicolas Anelka to join him in the MLS.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Red Bulls want to sign the Chelsea star during the summer and with Fernando Torres’ recent arrival at Stamford Bridge, it is believed that Anelka is keen to end his playing career in America.

Anelka’s brother Claude, manager of second division club AS St. Louis, has confirmed that his brother is interested in joining him in America. In addition, it is thought that Henry, who played with Anelka during the recent World Cup in South Africa, has persuaded his countryman to join him in New York and forge a potential goal-scoring partnership.
