Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder has been tipped to leave the San Siro this summer and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, who are seeking Paul Scholes’ and Frank Lampard’s successors respectively.

Last month Roman Abramovich splashed out big money on Fernando Torres and David Luiz, could Sneijder be the man to complete a new look Chelsea spine?

The 26-year-old Dutchman was a star for Jose Mourinho’s treble winning Inter side last season and he also enjoyed a great World Cup with his international side the Netherlands, who finished runners-up in South Africa, but has been off-form this season in comparison.

Chelsea could definitely do with more creative influence in their midfield, but at a £35 million asking price, according to the Guardian. I feel that it’s a little too much to splash out from and would perhaps prefer the club to look for a younger/cheaper option.

What are your thoughts on this transfer rumour, would you like to see Chelsea bid for Wesley Sneijder?

He has to want out after this year if Inter continue to struggle. Would be the ultimate replacement for Lampard to “fade out” with. Torres/Sneijder = Drogba/Lampard for the next 5 years.
