Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are set to go head to head for the signature of Inter Milan’s £8.5 million-rated right-back Davide Santon according to Goal.com.

The teenager star’s agent has confirmed that he is due to meet with all three clubs in London in the next few days.

The 19-year-old has been frustrated at the San Siro since the arrival of ex-Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez. The Italian youngster has been irritated by the Spaniard’s insistence on playing him out of position.

Santon’s agent, Contratto said:

“Of course he [Santon] wants to move to England and he has a number of different options, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.”

“We have a number of meetings lined up for the coming days with them, we’ll know more after that point.”

“He deserves and wants to play for high level clubs, his eyes are now away from Inter. A move in January would be possible but it will more than likely happen in the summer.”

“The player is unhappy with the situation because he keeps playing in different roles, meaning there is no clarity from the coach.”

Santon could be a great signing for any one of the three London clubs, who are all looking to strengthen their back lines. The Italian starlet is capable of playing on either side of defence, yet he is well-known for his attacking mentality and fits the mould of modern full-backs like Maicon or Dani Alves.

However, Prem clubs may find they have stiff competition. 19-year old, Santon, has also been linked to a host of Serie A clubs, such as Fiorentina and Genoa. Though, Benitez may be discouraged to sell to another club in the same division. Any deal could be scuppered though as doubt surrounding Rafa’s own future at the club could also influence the defender’s future.

Inter president Massimo Moratti recently indicated Benitez may face the chop soon as he publicly backed his manager in the typical “vote of confidence” style. However, quotes from recent days have shown a clear indication of Moratti’s feelings.

Moratti said:

“Ten years ago, I would have sacked Rafa Benitez by now, but I’ve grown as well, we all have.”

Santon will be hot property now and may even alert a variety of other world wide clubs. The Italian is only 19 and has a bright future ahead of him. Don’t be surprised to see the £8.5million rated defender grace the Prem come January.
