After a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge, Gary Cahill has insisted that the blues won’t make the same mistakes again next season.
“The lesson from this season is that I never want this season to happen again.”
Cahill, who was named in Roy Hodgson’s provisional England squad for the European Championships, has promised Chelsea will be a very different proposition next season.
I agree. It’s without doubt that Chelsea had a difficult campaign, losing 12 games and conceding 53 goals, sacking Jose Mourinho in December and finishing tenth.
But we’re rebuilding, and we finished the season strong.
Keeping John Terry for another year and appointing Antonio Conte as manager already puts the Blues in a position to challenge for next season’s Premier League title.
As for this summer, the England side is in a rich vein of form, and with Cahill leading the defence; we look set to challenge to win the tournament.
Since joining Chelsea in 2011, the former-Bolton defender has won every possible honour at Stamford Bridge.
