Chelsea have lodged a £22m bid for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, according to reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest properties after netting 18 times in his breakthrough season at San Siro.
Speculation is rife that Inter were desperate to commit the Argentine to a contract extension, with his existing deal set to expire in 2018.
However, Icardi has delayed putting pen to paper after the Blues lodged an offer for his services, according to Sport Mediaset.
