Arsenal have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign highly-rated Chile ace Charles Aranguiz after the midfielder admitted it would be a “dream” to play for the Gunners.

Both Premier League giants have been linked with £15 million moves for the Internacional star, who enhanced his burgeoning reputation in last summer’s World Cup.

However, it seems as if the red half of London may prevail over their city rivals after the 25-year-old admitted his affinity for Arsene Wenger’s side – but stressed that the club is yet to make contact.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Aranguiz, a Chile team-mate of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, told The Metro.

“I’ve heard about it through the press but nobody has talked to me. They’re a great team, and it would be a dream, but for now that’s all it is – a dream.”
