Chelsea are close to completing a deal for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado for a deal worth £23.3million.

The Colombian has agreed personal terms with Chelsea after the club activated his release clause. Now the clubs are finalising the deal, and subject to a medical Cuadrado will be a Chelsea player very soon.

His release clause was £26.8million and the deal will eventually rise to that amount with the add-ons involved in the deal.

It will certainly be a case of ‘one-in-one-out’ at Stamford Bridge, with Andre Schurrle being the most likely to leave. The German international has been on the fringes of the first-team for quite some time and the club need him to make way due to the complications of Financial Fair Play regulations.

Bundesliga club Wolfsburg have “opened discussions” on a potential deal worth £22million, according to BBC Sport.
