After being rested at the weekend against West Brom, Juan Mata, Ramires and Branislav Ivanovic will return for Chelsea against Juventus in the Champions League tomorrow and the Blues must get a positive result.

John Terry is still out injured, unfortunately, and that will remain a defensive worry but Ashley Cole may return to action after his recent absence with an ankle injury.

Chelsea have only won two games in their last seven and Roberto Di Matteo may have lost patience with a number of his stars after a string on poor performances, which XI should he pick for tomorrow’s game in Turin?

The team I’d pick:

P. Cech

C. Azplicueta – B. Ivanovic – G. Cahill – A. Cole

J. Mikel – Ramires

Oscar – J. Mata – E. Hazard

D. Sturridge

Our defensive problems are well documented at the moment and there’s no combination of forwards I’d have complete faith in to help see this game through, but I believe the above combination is the most solid we have to offer. Cesar Azpilicueta has looked good at fullback and although Gary Cahill isn’t playing great, I’d have him ahead of Captain Catastrophe, who was worse than useless at the weekend.

The midfield more or less picks itself and although the result against West Brom was crap, I’m hoping the likes of Mata and Ramires are feeling well rested and up for the Juventus game.

Fernando Torres didn’t have an attempt at goal on Saturday and it isn’t the first time he’s gone through a game without a single shot. I don’t want to see him in the starting line-up, it’s like playing with ten men. Daniel Sturridge missed a few chances in the same game and was criticised, but if he’s given a run of games to build form/sharpness, will those shots start going in for him?

Who’d be in your Chelsea XI v Juventus in Turin?

Anthony Williams am totally in line with you. Its better to use a striker who attempted but missed than to start someone who do not try attempting at all. Even at Torres’s current form, Moses would play a better striker than him. Torres is a gud player but i dnt think he would find his fit in chelsea.
Pls i stick with your line up. Lets go for it. Goodluck chelsea. Victory 2nite. Hail d blues.

This a game for the 4-3-3 system. RDM used it at home against Juventus. They play the 3-5-2 formation so the left and right wing backs will create that added width to their attack, including a packed midfield. Having three midfielders will be there to cover the defense from their attack. On the counter attack Chelsea will have two fast wingers and a striker to outfox their three man defense who would have pushed up from pressing us deep. The 4-2-3-1 is suicidal against their 3-5-2 because our pivot wouldn’t be able to handle their attacks through the middle and out wide.
