Chelsea captain John Terry is close to returning to the starting line-up after completing half an hour of a training session before continuing in the gym and will be looking to increase his workload over the next few days and should soon be back to full training.

Terry has not featured for Andre Villas-Boas’ side since he injured his knee during our win against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup, which aggravated an injury that he originally picked up against Portsmouth in the round before that.

The defender’s return will provide a timely boost to his struggling team-mates, especially as Villas-Boas seems to leave Gary Cahill out in favour of Branislav Ivanovic, who isn’t great in the centre-half position.

Ashley Cole was injured during our 2-0 defeat against Everton on Saturday. The left-back put in yet another woeful display against the Toffees but is only suffering from calf bruising and could be back soon, which should be good news but I quite enjoyed the fact Ryan Bertrand got some game time, especially as he likes to cross the ball rather than running into the opposition fullback.
