Genk attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne claims that Chelsea are still interested in signing him.

The 20-year-old was thought to be a target for Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas over the summer months but a deal never materialised.

However, it appears the Blues could go back in for the Belgium youngster this month. “Chelsea are still interested in me and already have a plan in place for me,” said De Bruyne.

“Staying at Genk for another season is not an option for me.

“Chelsea were [in the summer] serious about signing me but maybe Genk’s asking price was too high.”

De Bruyne played twice against Chelsea earlier this season in the Champions League.
