A mediocre start under Andre Villas-Boas hasn’t exactly lit up the Stamford Bridge fans who will hoping a win is a mere formality against Norwich who have begun the season well.

A 0-0 draw at Stoke was followed by an unconvincing win at home to West Brom leaving Chelsea with four points from a possible six. The signing of Juan Mata is certain to add some creativity that has been lacking so far and could reignite the goal scoring form of fellow Spaniard Fernando Torres. Mata is expected to make his debut against the Canaries and could be joined by David Luiz who is expected to return from a thigh muscle strain.

Norwich have begun the season with two 1-1 draws against established Premier League side’s Wigan and Stoke. Kenwyne Jones snatched a point for the Potters last week at Carrow Road and three points would have been welcome ahead of this week’s visit to Stamford Bridge. Despite being the underdogs Paul Lambert will send his team out to get a result and will make sure his troops play football instead of sitting back and soaking up the Chelsea pressure

Despite the Canaries positive start I just cant see them getting a result at Chelsea especially with the prospect of Mata being in the starting lineup.

Key Players

Frank Lampard – Despite being 33-years-old he is still an integral part of the fabric at Stamford Bridge and will be expected to get off the mark for the season against newly promoted Norwich.

Grant Holt – A superb performance against Stoke showed Holt can mix it with the Premier Leagues roughest characters. A similar show against the Blues will be vital to Norwich’s chances of taking anything from the game.

Verdict: 2-0
