Chelsea could be without Michael Essien for the long-term following his latest knee injury and could be looking for a replacement depending on how long the Ghanaian is expected to be out for.
Some quarters think that the Blues may step up their chase for a new midfielder, with West Ham’s Scott Parker, who was once on the books at Stamford Bridge and was voted player of the year by football writers last season.
Despite Parker’s efforts, the Hammers were relegated at the end of the 2009-10 Premier League season and looks set to leave Upton Park, and could leave for around £5m.
Would you want Parker back as Stamford Bridge, yes or no? – Have your say in the comments section below

The thing is, would Parker want to come back? You can bet your life that if an offer came in from another Premiership club he would take it above one from Chelsea.

Yes, absolutely i prefer to have him back, as chelsea faces many injured problem last season. It will be better to buy him back………..

Yes! He’s one of the few footballers that literally kill themselves for the sake of the team. Hard-man, neat on the ball, can pass, controls the pace of the game and scores you goals. What more do you want from a midfielder, and £5m too ? I’m buying him if Chelsea don’t.

at that price it would be stupid not to have a player like him. For sure if we don’t someone else will and with Essien’s knee problem could be the perfect solution. Plus it’s another English player.

He wouldn’t come back for a start
but with (potentially) a centre midfield of Lampard, Ramires, Modric, Mikel, McEachran (who I think should be seen as a legitimate part of the first team squad now) available, would that not be enough cover to finally give someone from the youth a chance? Would’ve ideally said Cork… but Connor Clifford maybe?

Looked very good in a very poor West Ham set up last season but too old and injury prone himself for a very top team like Chelsea. Ramires will continue to play in the Essien role but we could really do with a player like Felleini from Everton rather than Mikel in the DM role.

Let me start off by saying that Scottie Parker is a wonderful player, but his age is of great concern. Why get a player to fill in for Essien when we have three players that are younger than both Essien and Parker that can do the job for eg. Ramires, Mikel and McEachran. My no.1 option would be Mikel though becuase he has more experience than the other two and it is a much more comfortable role for him controlling the heart of the midfield.
