Chelsea have been told by Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro that they would need to part with at least £41m to secure the services of the Brazilian wonderkid, is he having a laugh?

The 19-year-old striker is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in the world and has been courted by Chelsea for some time, but the west London club failed to sign Neymar last summer and it would seem as though this saga could drag on after Ribeiro’s latest words.

Ribeiro said:

“Last year Santos received an offer of £32m from Chelsea and it was rejected. Now he would not leave for less than £41m.

“Neymar is like Messi. Soon he will be the best in the world because he is a player unlike any other. He is just 19 but all the big clubs are following him.”

The football agent also told Marca has refused to rule out the Bernabeu as a possible destination for Neymar, which has led some quarters to believe that Real Madrid lead the chase for the player despite interest from Chelsea and Barcelona.

Undoubtedly, Neymar is a fine talent, exciting prospect and has commercial value, but is he worth more than £40m?

After seeing the reactions of this latest news story on fan forums and sites like Twitter, it seems as though many supporters are unwilling to risk such a large sum of money on an unproven talent, especially considering his attitude and seemingly fickle nature when it comes to discussing where his future lies.

Others argue that he’ll live up to the price tag eventually and would prove to be a worthy investment in the long run and point towards his playing potential, marketability and believe that the player could also have a large resale value in years to come.

Neymar is the 3d best player in the world behind mesi and c.ronaldo for now and 41m is nothing compared to 200m+ messi price tag and c.ron 150m.
We’ll buy him for 32-35m thats for sure becouse his contract has a 37m clausole.
The torres buy was a big gamble not neymar’s couse torres is 27 and if he fail we sell him 20m or less, but 35m for neymar is a very good deal for us couse even if he fails he is 19 and we can sale him for at least 30m.

Well ,I would say £31m but considering that Abrampvich spent £50m for Fernando Torres that was coming from an injury and is 27 years old, what is the problem if he signs neymar that is way younger than Torres and shows signs of a brilliant future, compering this two transfers I would say that Neymar is worth £41m
