The transfer saga surrounding Anderlecht’s Romelu Lukaku has been something of a confusing one this summer, one minute his signing is imminent and then there are reports that we’re not entirely convinced over the player.
Lukaku, 18, has been linked with a move to a host of European clubs, but as a fan of the club it is believed that Chelsea is his preferred destination and he has previously described playing for the club as a personal ‘dream’ of his.
However, since Andre Villas-Boas has arrived at Stamford Bridge, the talk of Lukaku to Chelsea have died down somewhat and some have suggested that our manager isn’t keen on the Belgian forward.
But Anderlecht’s general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck insists that Chelsea have not gone cold over Lukaku, but says that they will only sell him for serious money:
“We will only sell if the player, the buyers and Anderlecht are better for it. Right now that isn’t the situation.
“Many clubs have shown interest but we want a serious transfer sum, so it may still take some time, and if we can’t sort it out we will have him as a star striker at Anderlecht next season. There is a rumour that the new Chelsea coach doesn’t fancy Romelu, but those people clearly have different information to us.”
The Club’s chairman Roger Vanden Stock added:
“Lukaku himself says it will be Chelsea and so I guess it will be Chelsea – but they’re not going to give us the money just like that. They want to keep the price as low as possible.
“We will see what happens. We’re not worried. I think Lukaku will eventually move to England but if he stays with us for another year, that is fine as well. We are patient and we don’t desperately need the money.”
Chelsea – zero class! Villas-Boas will be treated like sh*te just like his predecessors and booted out at the end of the season cos you won’t win the European cup.
Fernando Torres – Chelski were sold a £50m pup. He only played well in his first season for Liverpool and then in 2 games against you. You don’t sing his name – if you do it’s a copy of the “Liverpools No 9” song – get your own for christs sake! Oh and while I’m at it even your El Nino banner is the same as the Kops only in blue.
