Salomon Kalou kept Chelsea’s Premier League title hopes alive by scoring a late winner against Tottenham in a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The win takes the Blues within three points of Manchester United, who are due to play against 3rd place Arsenal tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium.

Sandro’s 19th-minute screamer opened the scoring for Tottenham and Harry Redknapp’s side looked to be doing a decent containing job on the Blues, until Frank Lampard’s long-ranged effort spilled through the grasp of Heurelho Gomes, who struggled to stop the ball from crossing the line and despite doing so, the linesman awarded the goal to Chelsea.

During the second half, it was Chelsea’s turn to feel aggrieved at a refereeing decision as Kalou was taken down in the penalty area by Younes Kaboul, but Andre Marriner shook his head. The Ivorian did have the last laugh though, and scored from an offside position following some persistent work from his countryman Didier Drogba.

But what did we learn from today’s game?

1. Heurelho Gomes is still a clown.

2. Lampard has single-handedly raised the issue of goal-line technology once again.

3. Spurs have lost two and drawn five of their last eight league matches, but their fans will likely blame THIS loss for finishing outside the top four.

4. After all the hyperbole and an underserved PFA Player of the Year award, Gareth Bale went missing today and confirms that he really isn’t worth the £40m price-tag the British tabloids have labelled him with over the past week.

5. Chelsea have put themselves in a position to take advantage of any United slipups and we can sit back and see what their response is, even if it is depressing that we’re relying on the bottlers.

Five things that we have learnt from todays game.

    1. Lampard is still the most o/rated player in the league
    2. Classy Terry is still the lowest piece of low life around.
    3. Gomes & Pav need to be removed.
    4. Chelsea will not win the league
    5. We TOTALLY outsung you bunch of tourist fans…most of you will not recall the old Division 2 days when you were lucky to get 15,000 at the Bridge after you were relegated…no history and no class.

    1. That you don’t need always to have in your team expensive and talented players in order to win a game
    2. That you don’t have to score any legal goal in order to win a game after you’ve been behind in the score
    3. That the players and the coaching staff should set up the rules of the game
    4. All fault decisions of the referees are always in favour of the clubs who have a rich “uncle”
    5. What’s the point of having rules?

    5. chelski will not be challenging for top 4 place 2 seasons time.

6 You are a retard. Bale deserves the PFA award as confirmed by anyone without a Chelsea/Man U/Arsenal bias. Spurs with 11 men are better than Chavski with 14 men.

You’ve upset a lot of Scum with this one !
