Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti and club owner Roman Abramovich have already ‘agreed’ a parting of the ways in the summer, according to football agent Carrie Baird, who was speaking to Sports Illustrated.

If this was true, who would you choose as a replacement?

The name on many fans’ lips would be Jose Mourinho, and there has been plenty of talk of his return to Stamford Bridge, especially as his old enemy Frank Arnesen is leaving this summer for German outfit Hamburg.

Mourinho had a successful stint at Chelsea, with the back-to-back Premier League title success being a particular highlight, but some have questioned his longevity, attitude and ability to nurture young players. Bringing him back would also be an admission that Abramovich was wrong, so I can’t see this one happening.

Two of the other candidates mentioned are former Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard and his countryman Marco van Basten. Both of them are currently out of work as Rijkaard was recently sacked from his last position at Galatasaray and van Basten has not worked in a managerial role for nearly two years.

Hypothetically speaking, if Ancelotti was to leave the club this summer, who would you like to see take the helm and why? Let me know your views in the comments section below.
