Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is certain that his star striker Didier Drogba is close to regaining his form and will be ready for the upcoming tie against Arsenal on December 27.

We all know that the Gooners are Didier’s favourite opponents, so is it the perfect game for the Drog to get his bite back?

Ancelotti is confident that he will:

“We need Drogba to come back to the performances he had last year and the goal against Tottenham was very good for his attitude. “

He added:

“I understand he has not been in a good condition. He had difficulty to play with malaria, he was tired, he was not 100 per cent and he found it difficult to train.

“I put him in the last few games even though he was not 100 per cent because we need to have his character and his personality.

“Now his condition is better. He had a good reaction after coming on as a substitute in the last game, this is the important thing and following the goal against Tottenham he will show us a different Drogba in the next game.”

Drogba has shown flashes of his old self recently during the second half against Spurs, despite missing a crucial stoppage time penalty which would have won us the game.

I know that we have been in poor form of late, but I always fancy our chances of putting the jitters into the Arsenal defence when Drogba is on the field. Also, the snow’s interruption could be a blessing for us as we have more time for the likes of Drogba and Frank Lampard to recover.

Will the Arsenal game be another Didier Drogba show?
